WSIA is so excited to host the first annual SunCup in Seattle, Washington! We are bringing together outdoor growers from across the state to compete for the best outdoor grown products!

World renowned cannabis researcher Dr. Ethan Russo will be speaking at the event about his research and the benefits of sungrown techniques on terpene profiles.

What does the SunCup stand for?

The SunCup is designed to be a place to celebrate sungrown cannabis in Washington and the techniques that facilitate environmental and economic sustainability. We gather around Earth Day to celebrate the beauty and benefits of the cannabis plant grown in its natural environment…under the sun!

How will the WSIA use the event proceeds?

All proceeds will go to further the mission of Washington Sungrowers Industry Association (WSIA), which is to support sungrown cannabis be encouraging environmental and economic sustainability through advocacy, education and research. What are the judges looking for?

Contestants will be reviewed on a 100-point scoring system that will examine Appearance, Fragrance, Smoothness, Taste, Effect and Overall Experience. Contestants may use this scoring system in conjunction with SunCup branding for future marketing on packaging, social media, etc.

How can I sign up to compete?

What are the prizes?

All SunCup winners will receive a trophy for their category, as well as the opportunity to label their winning product(s) as a “2018 SunCup Winner.”

Is the event open to the public?

No. This year’s SunCup is by invitation only, however we hope to open it up to the general public in the future.
